Thìa Gỗ Vietnamese Restaurant Hoi An

Description

Thìa Gỗ has built a serious reputation for pho – the kind that makes people write things like ‘the best I’ve had in Vietnam,’ which is not a claim Vietnamese food tourists throw around lightly. The staff are hospitable, not just professionally so, and the menu has enough range to keep a table of picky eaters happy.

It’s a halal Vietnamese restaurant, which fills a real gap in Hoi An’s Old Town dining scene. Worth knowing if that matters to your group, and worth knowing even if it doesn’t – the food quality stands on its own.

The room runs hot (no AC), so if you’re visiting in summer, go early evening before the heat of the day has fully settled into the walls. Speaking of early – the kitchen tends to close before the advertised 9pm, sometimes well before.
